- Video editing software uses Codec to Encode (write) and Decode (read) all the various video compression algorithms
- H.264 is currently the hottest codec with the widest variety of presets for the most popular video sharing options
- The Adobe Media Encoder will let you export multiple different file formats at once and continue to work with Premiere as it encodes.
- You can export just the audio from your project by simply un-checking the video box in the export dialog box
- Export an EDL, AAF, OMF or Final Cut Pro XML if you are working with another editor like Apple's Final Cut Pro
- You can export just a portion of a sequence by using the Work Bar to define the material you want to export
- F4V is the file format you will want to export if you plan to embed your video into Adobe Flash Professional
